LANSING, Mich., Oct. 14, 2021 — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and the Michigan Economic Development Corp. announced the $23 million expansion of two businesses in Genesee County. NorthGate has been a fixture of the Flint business community for decades since it was founded by Jack Goggins in 1984, while DAG Technology conducts work across the globe. Together, NorthGate and DAG Technology will bring more than 400 jobs to Genesee County. The Genesee County House Democratic Delegation applauded the announcement.

“Genesee County is open for business,” said state Rep. Tim Sneller (D-Burton). “For too long, our cities and towns have been overlooked and underutilized. I know the incredible work that our community members can do and am proud to see that investments are catching up with what we have always known to be true: Genesee County gets things done.”

“Now more than ever, we need to create good, decent-paying jobs,” said state Rep. Cynthia Neeley (D-Flint). “Initiatives like this will not only create jobs today but help to rebuild our economy tomorrow. When we foster collaboration between business and government, everyone benefits.”

“I am always happy to hear about investment in our community. New jobs bring new life and opportunity to our economy,” said State Rep. John Cherry (D-Flint). “Genesee County is home to many hardworking folks, making it the perfect place for businesses to thrive.”
